The ministry simultaneously praised the fair positions adopted by several countries supporting the Palestinian cause.
In its statement, Sana’a emphasized its principled stance in defending the just causes of the Yemeni people and the broader Arab and Muslim nations, rejecting any attempts to distort facts or justify the ongoing aggression and blockade against Yemen for over a decade.
The ministry noted that while the GCC-EU statement affirmed support for a comprehensive political process and civilian protection, it contained numerous inaccuracies.
The statement wrongly portrayed Yemen as obstructing the peace process, whereas the country has consistently extended its hand for peace and offered initiatives, including engagement with Saudi Arabia that led to a roadmap. Yemen stressed that the United States, due to Sana'a's support for the Palestinian struggle and its opposition to silence over Israeli enemy crimes in Gaza, has been the real obstacle to progress.
Highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, the ministry stated that it is a direct result of the aggression and blockade imposed by land, sea, and air for more than ten years, emphasizing that economic warfare has been used as a tool to achieve what could not be accomplished militarily. Yemen reiterated that lifting the blockade is the correct path to achieve peace and called for balanced, fact-based international positions to support a just and sustainable political settlement.
The ministry also underlined Yemen’s commitment to the safety and security of navigation in the Red Sea, pointing out that the threats stem not from Yemen but from foreign military presence and militarization of the region, along with suspicious alliances serving Israeli enemy interests.
In parallel, Yemen’s Foreign Ministry lauded South Africa, Spain, Colombia, and Venezuela for their support of Palestinian rights and condemnation of Israeli enemy crimes. Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras praised these countries’ efforts in international forums to halt the genocide, war crimes, and starvation inflicted by Israeli enemy on Gaza’s population.
Abu Ras emphasized that Israeli enemy crimes against Palestinians constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, reaffirming Yemen’s unwavering support for just causes worldwide, particularly the Palestinian cause.
The ministry’s communications also highlighted Israeli enemy crimes committed in Yemen, including targeting civilians and civil infrastructure, notably an attack on the Prime Minister and several of his colleagues. Yemen called for enhanced international cooperation and coordinated stances to confront Israeli enemy crimes and curb its expansionist ambitions.
The 29th GCC-EU Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting, chaired by Kuwait and the EU High Representative, issued a statement describing Yemen’s operations in the Red Sea as “threats and attacks.” In a display of clear political bias, it expressed concern over the humanitarian situation and praised recent Saudi and EU aid pledges, while distorting facts and overlooking the root causes of the crisis — namely, the ongoing aggression and blockade. The statement also ignored Yemen’s genuine efforts toward peace and its principled support for Palestine.
