Senior Official Honors Martyred Military Chief, Vows Continued Struggle Against 'Enemies'

News - Yemen: A senior official has framed the martyrdom of Yemen's military chief as a spiritual victory, declaring that such martyrs achieve "a life better than this one" while vowing that Yemen's people remain ready for further rounds of conflict.

Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, expressed heartfelt condolences to the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi and President Mahdi al-Mashat over the martyrdom of Major General Mohammed Abdulkarim al-Ghumari.

In a statement rich with religious symbolism, al-Houthi blessed "the great virtue attained by the martyr al-Ghumari," suggesting his ultimate goal was to "be a companion to the great ones" mentioned in the Quran among "the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and the righteous."

The official made the striking claim that "the blood of martyr Mohammed al-Ghumari, and others like him, and his spirit and the spirits of his counterparts, are the important means to achieve victory for the Palestinian cause." He asserted that all who die "on the path to Quds and Al-Aqsa" have already achieved victory and are recorded by God as martyrs.

In a direct address to opponents, al-Houthi declared: "Your objectives will not be achieved. Our people continuously produce leaders, loves jihad in the path of God, and knows this is one round followed by another, and is prepared for rounds of victory, God willing."

Expressing confidence in the military's continuity, al-Houthi stated trust in "the capabilities of his comrade, Major General Yusuf al-Madani, to continue the jihadist movement and endure the path of responsibility with unwavering determination and resolve until achieving victory over the enemies - as we have known him."

Major General Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari, one of Yemen’s most prominent military figures, was martyred alongside his son and several companions in US-Israeli airstrikes targeting Yemen during the two-year-long Al-Aqsa Flood campaign. The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed his martyrdom in a statement Thursday, announcing that the strikes also claimed the lives of numerous senior officials, ministers, and personnel from Yemen’s naval, missile, and air defense forces.

The Israeli enemy had made multiple assassination attempts against al-Ghamari before ultimately succeeding in the recent US-Israeli attack that claimed his life. These repeated attempts underscored the significance of al-Ghamari’s role in directing Yemen’s military operations and his central position in shaping the regional resistance front.

Al-Ghamari was widely regarded as the strategic architect behind many of Yemen’s long-range missile and drone campaigns that reshaped deterrence dynamics across the region. His martyrdom, observers say, further cements Yemen’s alignment with the regional Axis of Resistance and highlights the shared military and ideological coordination between Yemen, Iran, and Palestine.
