News - Yemen: Yemen reaffirmed its rejection of any attempt by the United Nations to become a cover for activities that threaten its security and sovereignty.

Ambassador Mohammed al-Saadah, Head of the International Organizations Department at Yemen’s Foreign Ministry, emphasized that the nation’s supreme interests take precedence over all immunities or other considerations.

In remarks to Al-Masirah TV, Ambassador al-Saadah stated: “The United Nations must not allow itself to serve as a shelter for espionage and subversive activities.”

He added: “The UN should have requested to review the conclusive evidence we hold proving the involvement of some of its employees in espionage and should have cooperated with national authorities.”

Ambassador al-Saadah further stressed: “No immunity exists for any spy, saboteur, or anyone interfering in Yemen’s internal affairs. The country’s supreme interests and national security override all other immunities and external considerations.”

The warning from Ambassador Mohammed al-Saadah comes in the wake of a major intelligence breakthrough recently announced by Yemen’s leadership, revealing the dismantling of a sophisticated espionage network operating under the cover of UN-affiliated organizations such as UNICEF and the World Food Programme. According to official statements, the network was linked to American and Israeli intelligence services and equipped with advanced surveillance tools aimed at penetrating Yemen’s communication systems and state institutions.

Yemeni officials described the discovery as a significant security achievement that exposed how certain international organizations had been infiltrated and exploited to conduct hostile operations against the country. The revelations have fueled public outrage and intensified calls for the United Nations to ensure neutrality and transparency within its agencies.
