Speaking on Al-Masirah TV, Amer highlighted that the “school” is rooted in Qur’anic ideology and values, creating a diverse spectrum of leaders across political, military, and security spheres. He noted that its influence extends beyond individuals, cultivating capabilities that operate effectively even under the secrecy required in combat operations.
Amer cited prominent figures such as former President Saleh Al-Samad, military and security leaders including Abu Hassan Al-Madani, and Martyr General Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari, describing them as exemplary products of the same Qur’anic and faith-based foundation. He emphasized that this school is not simply a test of personal merit, but a system capable of nurturing national competencies that safeguard Yemen’s strategic trajectory.
Highlighting the characteristics of effective military leadership, Amer explained that formal ranks or Western-style education alone do not guarantee the ability to make decisive battlefield decisions. Instead, the combination of practical skills, material capabilities, and strong faith is essential. He said that deep-rooted morale and Qur’anic values empower leaders to act with confidence even against superior enemy forces, including large armies and aircraft carriers.
Amer also assessed Yemen’s current military and strategic performance, describing it as a surprise to many regional and international observers. He noted that Yemen has successfully maintained resilience in ongoing confrontations, while adversaries have failed to achieve their objectives. Referencing Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, Amer added that Yemen today is stronger than ever, despite disinformation campaigns by regional and Western actors.
On the strategic front, Amer highlighted Yemen’s independent arms production as a game-changer. The country manufactures a wide range of weapons, from small arms to supersonic missile systems, granting it autonomous decision-making in military affairs. He stressed that reliance on advanced weapons alone is insufficient without strong faith and morale, noting that Yemen has consistently converted limited resources into significant operational impact.
Amer concluded by asserting that Yemen’s strategic resilience rests on three pillars: solid faith-based doctrine, innovative national will, and independent defense manufacturing. Together, these elements have enabled Yemen to withstand external pressures and alter regional power dynamics, providing a model for understanding shifts in Middle Eastern security balances.
Yemen’s Qur’anic school has long shaped leaders with a combination of faith, ethical conduct, and military expertise. Its approach integrates ideological education with practical skills, producing commanders capable of strategic thinking and battlefield leadership.
Coupled with Yemen’s expanding domestic defense industry—covering small arms, drones, and advanced missile systems—the nation has developed a unique position in the regional power balance, demonstrating resilience and strategic autonomy despite external pressures.
