Al-Aqsa Flood Revives Arab Nationalism, Yemen Hailed for Leading Role

Al-Aqsa Flood Revives Arab Nationalism, Yemen Hailed for Leading Role

News - Yemen: In what observers describe as a strategic transformation in Arab consciousness, the Al-Aqsa Flood operation and the steadfast resistance of the Palestinian people—alongside the engagement of the regional Resistance Axis led by Yemen—have reignited Arab nationalist sentiment and restored its influential presence in confronting the Israeli enemy.

During the latest session of the Arab National Congress, Yemen emerged as one of the most prominent symbols of this revival, earning exceptional recognition and consensus from participants across the Arab world. Many hailed Yemen’s role as a “national miracle” that revived the Arab nation’s dignity and pride after decades of decline and division.

Political writer and researcher Taleb al-Hassani explained to Al-Masirah that the Al-Aqsa Flood and the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance, together with the active role of the Resistance Axis including Yemen, were decisive in reviving Arab nationalist movements and reasserting their position in confronting the Israeli enemy.

Al-Hassani noted that the outcomes of the latest Arab National Congress were a direct result of the repercussions of the Al-Aqsa Flood, which, he said, restored the spirit of unity and defiance once embodied by Arab nationalist movements during their struggle against Western and British colonialism.

He further emphasized that Arab nationalist currents had long been the target of internal and external campaigns—especially following the collapse of the Soviet Union—by the United States, Western powers, and the Israeli enemy, all seeking to suppress any Arab movement symbolizing unity or resistance. The absence of such movements, he added, would have left a dangerous void in the Arab landscape amid the ongoing confrontation with the Zionist entity.

According to al-Hassani, the latest Arab National Congress was held under exceptional circumstances imposed by the confrontation with the Israeli enemy, giving the gathering a distinctly nationalist character. He described the revival of Arab nationalist movements and their new alliances as a key step toward reaffirming resistance as the central strategic choice of the Arab nation.

For his part, writer and media figure Ali al-Mahtouri stated that this year’s congress differed markedly from previous sessions, carrying the “spirit of the Flood” and a genuine Arab nationalist tone. Yemen, he said, stood at the heart of the discussions, receiving unprecedented appreciation from participants representing various Arab countries.

Al-Mahtouri told Al-Masirah that in the past, such conferences were often hesitant about the Yemeni file, but this time, there was unanimous Arab agreement acknowledging Yemen’s remarkable role. Participants described Yemen’s achievements in the past two years as a “national miracle” that restored the Arab world’s sense of honor and self-confidence after years of frustration and fragmentation.

He noted that delegates from North Africa—including Morocco, Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia—voiced profound respect for the Yemeni people and their leadership, praising Yemen’s courage and wisdom in defying the Zionist enemy despite economic hardship, years of war, and ongoing siege.

According to al-Mahtouri, participants said Yemen’s actions reflected “a combination of faith-driven strength and rational vision,” making it today a symbol of Arab steadfastness and free will. Many expressed deep admiration and conveyed greetings to the Yemeni people, saying: “You, the people of Yemen, have raised the head of this nation high. You did what no one else dared to do.”

Researchers and analysts concluded that the Arab National Congress convened amid growing awareness of the dangers posed by the Zionist and Western projects in the region, alongside increasing calls to unify Arab and Islamic ranks under the banner of resistance—the only viable path to restoring dignity and sovereignty to the Arab nation.

Since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation in 2023, Arab nationalist sentiment has surged across the region, fueled by the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance and growing opposition to normalization with the Zionist entity.

Yemen’s bold stance—through military and political support for Gaza and defiance of Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea—has made it a central symbol of this revival. The recent Arab National Congress embodied this renewed spirit, highlighting Yemen’s role in restoring Arab unity and resistance against the Israeli enemy and its Western allies.
