News - Yemen: Three African migrants were wounded on Sunday after coming under direct fire from Saudi forces along the Yemen–Saudi border, in an incident that adds to a growing record of violations against civilians and migrants in the region.

According to Almasirah’s correspondent in Sa'adah, the victims—of different African nationalities—were shot by Saudi border troops stationed opposite the districts of Qatabar and Munabbih in northern Sa'adah province. The injured migrants were rushed to receive urgent medical treatment.

The attack took place in an area that has seen repeated assaults targeting civilians and migrants attempting to cross the border, often in search of work or safety. Border regions in Sa'adah witness near-daily bombardment and direct gunfire, in what local residents and rights groups describe as systematic violations of international law.

Observers say the continued targeting of unarmed civilians and migrants reflects an ongoing disregard by Saudi forces for humanitarian norms and underscores a policy of escalation rather than de-escalation in Yemen.

Local communities and human rights advocates are urging international organizations to intervene and hold Saudi authorities accountable, calling for immediate measures to halt what they describe as “systematic crimes” against migrants and civilians along the border.

The latest incident is one in a long list of attacks that have claimed the lives of Yemenis and foreign migrants alike—anyone who sets foot in or near the border zone remains at constant risk.
