Yemen Releases Eternity C Crew After Omani Mediation

Yemen Releases Eternity C Crew After Omani Mediation

News - Yemen: Yemen's government in Sana’a has released the crew of the Eternity C following Omani mediation, with the sailors transported today from Sana’a to the Omani capital, Muscat.

The Philippine Foreign Ministry had announced days earlier that it received confirmation from Oman that nine Filipino sailors from the vessel would be freed. The crew had been rescued after the ship was struck for violating Yemen’s July decision banning navigation to ports of the Zionist entity.

According to the Philippine Foreign Ministry, the release resulted from coordinated efforts between Oman and Manila. The sailors were treated well during their stay in Yemen, as evidenced by televised footage showing them contacting their families and being received respectfully by officials in Sana’a.

Yemen’s naval operations in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden have intensified in recent months as part of Sana’a’s military campaign targeting all vessels linked to ports of the Israeli enemy. The policy aims to pressure the entity to lift its siege on Gaza and halt its ongoing aggression. Despite repeated warnings broadcast via maritime radio, several shipping companies have continued to violate the Yemeni-imposed ban, prompting firm responses from Yemen’s Naval Forces.

The Eternity C incident came on the heels of the more dramatic Magic Seas operation, in which the ship was sunk after refusing to comply with Yemeni directives. According to military footage released by Sana’a, an unmanned explosive boat first ignited the vessel, after which Yemeni naval special forces boarded and detonated it. These operations—documented in high-resolution video—serve as a clear message to international maritime companies that any defiance of Yemen’s blockade on ships heading to Israeli enemy ports will be met with decisive action.
