Israeli Enemy Intensifies West Bank Crackdown: Mass Raids, Arrests, and Citywide Lockdowns

News - Middle East: In a new escalation of its ongoing campaign, the Israeli enemy carried out extensive overnight raids across several towns and cities in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, imposing military closures, enforcing curfews, and conducting widespread arrests and field interrogations.

Palestinian sources reported that enemy forces re-arrested Hamas leader Sheikh Bajis Nakhla after storming his home in Al-Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah.

In Salfit governorate, enemy troops raided the town of Kafr ad-Dik and detained a young man with disabilities. Two additional Palestinians were arrested in the village of Madama south of Nablus following home invasions and searches.

The Israeli enemy also announced the complete closure and siege of the Kafr Saba neighborhood in the city of Qalqilya, declaring it a closed military zone and banning movement inside the area. Local residents said enemy forces stormed Qalqilya from the northern checkpoint, conducted house-to-house searches, and sealed the Kafr Saba area with dirt mounds.

The escalation continued in Jenin, where enemy forces carried out a broad arrest operation in the town of Qabatiya. Raids also targeted the towns of Allar and Sida in the Tulkarm area.

In Nablus, the Israeli enemy renewed its incursion from the Al-Tour checkpoint, deploying multiple patrols throughout the city. Similar raids were reported in Beit Fajjar south of Bethlehem, the Za’atara area to the east, as well as the town of Sa’ir and the Al-Ain neighborhood in Hebron.

Further incursions included a raid on the home of a former prisoner in the town of Al-Mughayyer near Ramallah. In southern Hebron, enemy forces detained Tamer Wureidat — a former prisoner freed in a swap deal — after storming his family home in Al-Dhahiriya. The head of the Al-Samou’ municipality, Ibrahim Al-Rawashdeh, was also arrested alongside two other residents.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its medical teams in Jenin transported a 53-year-old man to hospital after he was injured during an assault by enemy troops in the town of Misliya, which has been under curfew since Wednesday.

The Israeli enemy has escalated its daily military operations across the occupied West Bank throughout 2025, expanding the use of closed military zones, mass arrest campaigns, and systematic raids on homes. These actions form part of a broader strategy aimed at tightening control over Palestinian cities and suppressing resistance activity, particularly amid heightened tensions in Jenin, Nablus, and Hebron. The ongoing operations have resulted in widespread detentions, severe mobility restrictions, and repeated violations of international humanitarian law.
