News - Yemen: Hisham Sharaf, the caretaker Foreign Minister, has called upon UN Secretary-General António Guterres to demonstrate humanitarian courage by establishing an independent and impartial investigation committee to probe the war crimes and acts of genocide committed by the Israeli enemy in the Gaza Strip.

In a written letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General, the caretaker Foreign Minister highlighted the ongoing war crimes and genocide against innocent and defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip, which is under Israeli occupation. He expressed concern that the UN appears powerless in defending the very principles for which it was created.

The caretaker Foreign Minister emphasized that the Israeli enemy disregards international law and humanitarian norms, benefiting from unwavering military, political, financial, and logistical support from certain permanent members of the Security Council. This support not only endangers the lives of Gaza Strip residents but also undermines international law and threatens the credibility of the UN.

Israel's deadly war on Gaza has continued for over a month and a half. The regime relentlessly carries out airstrikes and shelling, subjecting Palestinians in the besieged enclave to perpetual pain and suffering.

Numerous buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches, have been damaged or destroyed as a result of Israel's relentless air and ground attacks on the besieged territory.

Recent strikes targeting civilian infrastructure have claimed the lives of dozens of Palestinians.

Even hospitals have not been spared from Israeli bombardment. Doctors Without Borders has expressed grave concern about the situation at Al-Shifa Hospital, one of the health facilities most heavily affected since the beginning of the conflict.

The death toll in Gaza has surpassed 13,300, with a majority of the victims being women and children. Approximately 70 Israeli troops have been killed since the regime launched its ground offensive in Gaza.
