The massive turnout, described by the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi as a "great jihadist revival in commemoration of the Battle of Badr," sent a clear message of resistance to the American and Israeli aggression.
In his 16th Ramadan lecture, the leader praised the Yemeni people for their unwavering support for Palestine and their rejection of "humiliation and subjugation to the enemies of God." He emphasized that the protests were not only a religious duty but also a reaffirmation of Yemen’s historical role in defending Islam and confronting forces of "disbelief, evil, and criminality."
"The Yemeni people’s message is clear: the Palestinian people are not alone," Sayyed Abdulmalik declared. He condemned the Israeli blockade on Gaza, calling it a "heinous crime" that cannot be ignored, and reiterated Yemen’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause. He also warned that Yemen would not stand idly by if the U.S. continues to back Israeli aggression.
He revealed that Yemeni armed forces had recently repelled an attempted attack by U.S. naval forces, forcing an American aircraft carrier to retreat 1,300 kilometers north into the Red Sea. He framed this as evidence of Yemen’s growing military capabilities and readiness to confront external threats.
"The American enemy must understand that if it continues its aggression against our country in support of the Israeli enemy, it will push us toward additional escalatory measures," Sayyed Abdulmalik warned. He added that while Yemen is currently targeting U.S. warships and aircraft carriers, it has "even more painful and disruptive options" if the aggression persists.
The leader also criticized the Biden administration for its failure to adequately address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and its perceived lack of resolve in confronting Israeli policies. He contrasted this with the Trump administration’s threats of "unprecedented responses" to Yemeni military actions, suggesting that the current U.S. approach has emboldened Israeli aggression.
He called on the international community to recognize the Yemeni people’s sacrifices and their commitment to justice. He stressed that Yemen’s actions are guided by religious, moral, and ethical responsibilities, and that the country is prepared to take even greater steps if necessary.
The protests, which drew millions of participants, were hailed by the leader as a testament to the Yemeni people’s resilience and faith. He concluded his speech by thanking the protesters and praying for their efforts to be rewarded by God.
Yemen has been a focal point of regional tensions, particularly due to its support for the Palestinian cause and its ongoing conflict with the U.S aggression. It has consistently opposed Israeli and American policies in the region, framing its resistance as a religious and moral duty.
The recent mass protests in Sana’a and other Yemeni provinces, coinciding with the anniversary of the Battle of Badr, underscore their commitment to standing with Palestine and confronting the American and Israeli tyranny.
