Commenting on the Yemeni operations—which have become a subject of study and analysis across Israeli and American media—Lebanese strategic affairs researcher Ali Hamieh said, "What has happened over the past month, including the downing of seven American drones by Yemeni Air Defenses and the repeated strikes on the American fleet, reflects Washington’s paralysis toward Yemen," which, he added, is now openly visible even in enemy media.
In an interview with Al-Masirah TV, Hamieh noted four key topics currently under close scrutiny by US and Israeli media:
Hamieh pointed out that one American analyst admitted, "We are trying to understand Yemen’s Air Defense systems. The US no longer even trusts its F-18 or F-35 aircraft and is now deploying B-2 stealth bombers for strikes on Yemen."
He stressed that "American experts are confused when studying Yemeni military capabilities."
According to Hamieh, earlier US assessments suggested that Yemen might use mobile, not fixed, air defense systems—something the Americans have now confirmed. Yemen, he said, employs a "signature process" for its Air Defense systems.
He added, "The Americans admit that the 'signature system' enables Yemen to arm its missiles from mobile launch platforms. Smart operators then launch the missile and only activate the tracking devices afterward, disrupting US aircraft efforts to detect and track signals from the missile until it hits its target."
Regarding developments at sea, Hamieh confirmed that the US aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman is now undergoing maintenance, and the arrival of the carrier Vinson is merely to accommodate some aircraft.
"If Truman were fully operational, there would have been no need to send another carrier into the Arabian Sea," he said.
Hamieh explained that "the American aggression on Yemen has shifted the balance of power, scrambling Washington’s plans and strategies that were set at the beginning of its aggression. The US is now convinced this is a losing war that cannot be won unless the aggression and blockade on Gaza end."
He concluded his remarks to Al-Masirah by emphasizing, "Many American voices now admit that US losses on the Yemeni front would surpass what they would suffer if they were fighting Russia or China."
He predicted that "the US will soon seek negotiations with Yemen, realizing that the war has become too costly to sustain."
Washington’s drones continue to fall one after another in Yemen's provinces. The Yemeni Air Defenses recently brought down their 22nd advanced MQ-9 Reaper off the coast of Hajjah Province.
Despite continued aggression, the Yemeni Armed Forces asserted that their military position is “stronger than it was weeks ago,” stating they have adapted to developments, disrupted enemy movements, and thwarted multiple attacks.
As the genocidal war against Gaza intensified, the Yemenis implemented a strategic blockade of key maritime routes, aiming to disrupt the flow of military supplies to their adversaries and exert pressure on the international community to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have said they will not stop their attacks until Israel’s ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.
