News - Yemen: Saad Nimr, Professor of Political Science at Birzeit University in occupied Palestine, affirmed that the agreement to halt US aggression on Yemen, brokered by Oman, confirms a US defeat and the collapse of Trump’s arrogance.

He noted that the pressure Yemen exerted through military operations targeting American aircraft carriers and warships forced Trump to announce a withdrawal and acknowledge his country’s failure.

He emphasized that the agreement reflects Washington’s loss in a battle launched to support the occupying entity, stressing that the US now seeks to end its aggression on Yemen due to the high cost and critical situation it faces.

The Palestinian academic predicted that one consequence of the Yemen ceasefire agreement would be to force the Zionist entity to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza and halt its crimes—adding that Yemeni military pressure will now focus exclusively on the terrified Israeli regime.

He stated that the US has only succeeded in harming Yemen on a civilian level through its crimes, adding that despite its brutality, America has failed to break the Yemeni people’s will.

Commenting on Trump's visit to the region, Nimr urged Arab and Islamic nations to take a strong stance and reject Trump’s visit until the aggression and blockade on Gaza are lifted.

Trump’s announcement to halt US attacks on Yemen signals a retreat under pressure from sustained Yemeni strikes in the Red Sea. The move, brokered through Omani mediation, reflects Washington’s failure to shield Israel or stop Yemeni operations supporting Gaza.

Yemen had initially targeted only Israeli assets, but after US involvement in March, American forces became targets. Intense Yemeni attacks forced a US pullback, exposing Israel and revealing a split in US-Israeli coordination.
