Israel Admits Most Victims of Genocidal Campaign in Gaza Civilians

News- Middle East: The Israeli military has admitted that most of the victims of its war against the Gaza Strip were unarmed civilians.

According to Israeli outlet HaMakom HaKhi Ham, the Israeli military officially acknowledged that 82 percent of those killed in Gaza since the regime broke the ceasefire agreement reached in Gaza on March 18 were civilians.

The military’s figures claimed that 2,780 Palestinians have been killed since March 18, including 2,280 civilians not involved in any acts of resistance. The remaining 500 were identified as “militants”.

The ratio of 4.5 civilians killed for every alleged fighter is “far worse” than in other wars over the past decade, Drop Site reported.

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, however, puts the toll even higher, saying 14 civilians, including women and children, were killed for every resistance fighter.

Late last month, the group said civilians accounted for over 94 percent of the victims of Israeli strikes in just one week (between 20 and 26 April).

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli regime has killed 52,928 and injured 119,846 Palestinians in Gaza, according to the health ministry of the besieged territory.

In January, the Israeli regime was forced to agree to a ceasefire deal with Hamas given the regime’s failure to achieve any of its objectives, including the “elimination” of the Palestinian resistance movement or the release of captives.

The 42-day stage of the truce, which was marred by repeated Israeli violations, expired on March 1, but Israel is refraining from stepping into talks for the second stage of the agreement.

On March 18, the regime resumed the strikes on Gaza, breaking the nearly two-month-long ceasefire.
