In this regard, the travel and tourism news site Travel and Tour World reported that, although the Yemeni missile did not strike the terminal directly, it shook the aviation world and caused an abrupt halt to air travel.
The site described the Yemeni attack as a wake-up call, with immediate effects: the withdrawal of airlines, massive disruption, and great difficulty for “Israelis” trying to return home.
It explained that the Yemeni attack on Lod Airport—known in the Zionist naming as "Ben Gurion Airport"—turned the summer travel season into utter chaos. The absence of foreign airlines has severely impacted settlers, causing ticket prices to skyrocket and seat availability to plummet.
The site noted that since May 4, most foreign airlines have suspended their flights to the entity due to the Yemeni missile landing at Lod Airport. The attack exposed real vulnerabilities in the civilian aviation infrastructure and left thousands of settlers unable to travel.
The impact was immediate: airlines pulled out, flight paths vanished, and a wave of cancellations swept across Europe and the Middle East, the report added.
Major carriers such as Ryanair, British Airways, and several airlines under the Lufthansa Group—including Swiss International Air Lines, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, and Eurowings—extended their service suspensions until late June and July, according to the site.
Cancellations also included French, Iberia, EasyJet, and Transavia airlines, while Latvian carrier AirBaltic halted all flights to Israel.
The result was massive disruption: tourists canceled their holidays, settlers were stranded abroad, and they faced immense difficulty returning to the occupied Palestinian territories. What is usually a peak travel season “quickly turned into total chaos,” the site described.
The report also pointed out that Zionist companies exploited the situation by hiking travel ticket prices at the settlers' expense. The absence of foreign carriers gave Israeli airline El Al a near-monopoly over key international routes—particularly between Tel Aviv and New York—deeply affecting consumers. With fewer airlines operating, ticket prices surged dramatically.
For travelers, options have dwindled. El Al’s dominance created price bottlenecks, frustrating leisure travelers and those with urgent family or business needs.
The site also highlighted that the ongoing Yemeni missile and drone strikes have kept the airspace over the Zionist entity on high alert, deterring global airlines from resuming flights.
Since the outbreak of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemen’s Armed Forces have intensified their military operations in support of the Palestinian people. These operations, part of the Pattle of the Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad, have included missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli-linked assets, as well as naval and aerial blockades aimed at pressuring Israel to end its aggression and lift the siege on Gaza.
Among the most impactful of these operations was the May 4, 2025, launch of a Yemeni hypersonic missile targeting Lod Airport near Jaffa. Although the missile did not directly hit the terminal, it caused a massive disruption in air traffic, sending shockwaves through the international aviation industry.
In the days following the strike, numerous international airlines—including major European carriers—suspended flights to and from Israel, citing safety concerns. The incident exposed vulnerabilities in Israel’s civilian aviation infrastructure and led to significant travel disruptions, particularly affecting Israeli settlers and tourists.
