News – Yemen The Entisaf Organization for Women and Children’s Rights accused the United Nations and its agencies of abandoning their responsibilities toward the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples amid deepening humanitarian crises.

In a statement marking World Humanitarian Day, the organization said that more than 21.6 million Yemenis require urgent humanitarian assistance, while over 2.4 million people in northern Gaza face the threat of starvation. It added that the UN’s role has been “absent,” pointing to a withdrawal of support from vital sectors, particularly healthcare.

Entisaf stressed that both peoples continue to endure the collapse of health systems, killings, displacement, and forced migration, with their internationally recognized rights “violated and stripped away.” It also criticized the UN for the "lack of transparency and accountability in the distribution of aid."

The group further highlighted that since the beginning of the aggression on Yemen and Gaza, expired and spoiled aid shipments have been delivered, compounding the suffering. It also noted a sharp escalation in attacks on relief workers in Palestine this year, including killings, assassinations, and the destruction of humanitarian facilities.

Since October 2023, Israel’s war on Gaza has killed tens of thousands and driven millions to the brink of famine. In Yemen, nine years of war and blockade have left the majority of the population dependent on aid. Yemeni officials argue that the UN’s suspension of key projects reflects political pressure tied to Yemen’s outspoken support for Gaza.
