News - Yemen: The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has extended condolences to the Yemeni people over the killing of Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahwi, Prime Minister of Yemen’s Government of Change and Construction, along with several of his cabinet ministers, in an Israeli airstrike on the Yemeni capital Sana’a last Thursday.

In a statement, Hamas described the attack as “a blatant violation of the sovereignty of an Arab state, a heinous crime, and an expression of Zionist arrogance against all international laws and norms.”

The movement emphasized that the blood shed in Yemen “has been united with the sacrifices of the Palestinian people in the ongoing Al-Aqsa Flood battle, reaffirming the unity of the Muslim nation, the centrality of the Palestinian cause, and the grave threat posed by the Zionist enemy to the security and stability of the region and the world.”

Hamas further expressed its “deepest condolences and solidarity with the Yemeni people, Ansarullah, and the Yemeni Armed Forces,” while wishing recovery for the wounded. The statement also praised Yemen’s consistent and honorable support for the Palestinian struggle, particularly its steadfast backing of the people of Gaza.

On Thursday evening, Israeli warplanes launched multiple air raids on Sana’a, hitting civilian infrastructure, public service facilities, and densely populated areas. Since the beginning of 2025, Israel has carried out more than 11 attacks on Yemen, mostly against non-military targets such as the Haziz power station, Yemen Oil Company, cement factories in Amran and Bajil, the port of Hodeidah, and Sana’a International Airport.

This attack comes amid heightened regional tensions, reflecting the broader conflict dynamics between Israel and nations supporting Palestinian resistance, and underscores Yemen’s enduring position in regional geopolitics as a state committed to defense, resilience, and solidarity with oppressed peoples.
