News - Yemen: In his weekly address on Thursday, the leader of the revolution dedicated significant attention to what he termed the “crime of the century” – the ongoing Israeli aggression and siege against Gaza, now exceeding 700 days. 

Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi presented a detailed and grim assessment of humanitarian conditions and accused the Zionist entity of systematic genocide, while also issuing a stark warning about Israel’s broader regional ambitions.

The speech comes amid a significant escalation in regional tensions, including continued Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and southern Lebanon, and reciprocal military operations by the Yemeni Armed Forces against Israeli and Israel-linked shipping and targets in occupied territories. The leader addresses are closely watched as statements of policy and intent from the de facto authorities in Sanaa.

Sayyed Abdulmalik stated that the aggression has resulted in the martyrdom of over 20,000 children and 12,500 women, with 2,700 families entirely erased from the civil registry in Gaza. He emphasized that the situation has not improved since the UN declared a famine, accusing Israel of continuing to set "death traps," target water seekers, and destroy 90% of the built environment.

He detailed the use of American bombs, controlled demolition of buildings, and American bulldozers for razing, stating that residential towers and communication infrastructure are targeted to further isolate the strip and hide the facts. He highlighted the deliberate targeting of mosques as a central part of Israel's "enmity towards Islam and Muslims."

The leader argued that Israel employs multiple methods to psychologically impact the Muslim nation, aiming to create a "tamed nation that nothing provokes." This includes the daily storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque to normalize violations and the systematic effort to change the Islamic character of Quds, including through archaeology and renaming sites like the Al-Buraq Wall to the "Western Wall."

A significant portion of the speech was a dire warning about the expansionist "Greater Israel" project. Al-Houthi asserted that the Zionist plan is not limited to Palestine but aims to control the entire region, with ongoing operations targeting Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq.

He framed US support not as mere political strategy but as a deep-seated "ideological background," claiming American policymakers believe enabling a "Greater Israel" and the destruction of the Muslim nation is a "sacred religious duty."

The leader pointed to recent US sanctions preventing PA officials from attending a UN meeting as proof that the path of negotiation and reliance on the US is a "mirage." He declared the PA's approach "futile," asking, "The Israeli enemy does not grant the Palestinian people the most basic rights; would it grant them a state?!"

Sayyed Abdulmalik called on all Muslims, their elites, and masses to contemplate the "background of the American position," urging them to recognize the ideological nature of the threat and move beyond "clearly straying and treacherous" inaction.

The address underscores the highly ideological and transnational nature of the conflict as viewed from Sanaa, rejecting any two-state solution or negotiated settlement and presenting a binary choice between resistance and submission.
