News - Yemen: Ali Haidar, a specialist in Israeli affairs, stressed that Yemen’s continued support for Gaza and the Palestinian people has emerged as a new strategic factor, directly influencing the enemy’s calculations.

Haidar explained that Yemen’s role is not confined to political statements, but is reflected on the ground through military operations and the visible reactions of the Israeli entity. 

He noted that the choice of targets by Yemeni forces—such as Ramon Airport, Lod Airport, and Umm Al-Rashrash Port—demonstrates both precision and practical wisdom. These facilities represent vital hubs but are simultaneously soft points, where even a limited number of missiles can cause major disruption, halting air traffic and impeding connectivity between occupied territories and the outside world.

He added that attacks on facilities linked to the naval blockade at Eilat, along with strikes on shipping companies sending vessels to occupied ports, should be measured not by the sheer number of missiles, but by their impact on public life and economic activity. 

According to Haidar, the disruption of air travel and airport operations inflicts both direct and indirect economic losses, interrupting supply chains, civilian mobility, and trade flows, thereby magnifying the effect of relatively small-scale strikes.

The expert also emphasized the psychological dimension, citing Israeli media reports about thousands of settlers rushing to shelters during successive attacks. He argued that the minimum impact of any operation against occupied territories lies in eroding the settlers’ sense of collective security, undermining Israel’s deterrence, and highlighting Yemen’s active role in the broader military and political equation.

Haidar stressed that each strike carries a message and serves as a signal of further operations, with the distinct nature of each target—such as Ramon and Lod airports or Eilat port—shaping both material and psychological outcomes.
