News - Middle East: Southern Lebanon is experiencing a continuous escalation by the Zionist occupation, with intensive flights of enemy warplanes in Lebanese airspace and daily violations of the country's sovereignty, alongside escalating warnings of an American plan aimed at destabilizing the country internally and targeting the resistance.

Almasirah TV's correspondent in Beirut, Zahra Halawi, reported that enemy forces continued their assaults on southern villages last night, dropping sonic bombs on the towns of Al-Dhahira in the western sector and Aintilun in the central sector, accompanied by provocative low-level flights of enemy aircraft.

She pointed out that Lebanon is preparing today to bury the victims of the massacre committed by the Zionist entity's planes two days ago in the town of Burj Al-Shamali, which led to the martyrdom of a father and his three children and another citizen, while the mother and her daughter are receiving treatment in a hospital in the south.

Halawi added that these developments coincided with controversial statements made by Washington's envoy for Middle East affairs, Tom Barak, who said that his country "supports the Lebanese army not to fight Israel, but to fight Hezbollah." This was considered in Lebanon a clear attempt to ignite internal sedition and direct incitement against the resistance.

In response to these statements, sources in the Islamic Resistance and the "national duo" confirmed that they were and still are in a state of political alert to thwart the American-Zionist plan, through intensive communications with various Lebanese parties to spare the country the scenario of internal fighting.

According to Halawi, these efforts previously contributed to thwarting a government plan that was responding to external pressures to disarm the resistance, following the recent September 5th session. This reportedly helped realign the national compass towards clear priorities: stopping the aggression, liberating prisoners, reconstruction, and then discussing a comprehensive national security strategy.

The US Congress had previously hinted at using the military option against the resistance in Lebanon if political efforts to disarm it failed, confirming the existence of a systematic plan to target resistance forces in the region, within an American and enemy-led regional project.

At least five people, including three children, were killed and two others wounded in an Israeli drone strike on southern Lebanon, the latest breach of the November 2024 ceasefire by the occupying regime.

Lebanese media outlets reported that an Israeli drone fired two guided missiles on Sunday afternoon, one targeting a motorcycle and another hitting a nearby car carrying a family of six in the southern Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil. 

Despite almost daily Israeli airstrikes and ongoing breaches of Lebanese airspace and sovereignty, Hezbollah continues to be the sole credible military entity capable of challenging the occupation and thwarting additional Israeli intrusions.
