Retired Zionist Officer Admits Yemen’s Red Sea Operations Pose 'Grave Strategic Threat'

News - Yemen: In an unprecedented admission on Israeli enemy Channel 14, a retired officer warned that Yemen’s expanding military presence in the Red Sea has created a “grave strategic threat” to the entity, surpassing all prior military assessments.

The officer, appearing on a prime-time analysis program on the Netanyahu-aligned channel, acknowledged that Yemen has succeeded in imposing “a new reality” in the Red Sea by effectively disrupting vital maritime traffic. He said the disruption has already inflicted massive economic losses on the Israeli enemy, costing billions of dollars through delayed shipments, suspended trade, and the diversion of vessels onto longer, costlier routes around the Cape of Good Hope.

Beyond economics, the officer stressed that the Red Sea—long regarded by Israeli enemy as a secure corridor—has now become a point of vulnerability with direct military and political consequences. He admitted that Yemeni forces have demonstrated unexpected willpower and capability, proving they are not merely a regional nuisance but a force capable of altering regional strategic balances.

He further noted that the Israeli enemy Navy, even with US and Western support, has been unable to neutralize the Yemeni threat entirely. “This has become a real strategic dilemma and a security challenge we cannot ignore,” he said, warning that continued Yemeni operations put the Israeli enemy in an “existential economic and security test” at a time when it is already facing simultaneous confrontations in Gaza and along the Lebanese front.

The rare acknowledgment lends weight to repeated Yemeni declarations that they have successfully established a new equation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab: linking the safety of global shipping to the freedom of Palestinians. Analysts say this has positioned Yemen as a pivotal player in the regional conflict and a card no international power can overlook in its calculations.

Since formally announcing participation in the support campaign for Gaza, Yemeni forces have increasingly employed long-range missiles and drones against targets across occupied territory and strategic nodes tied to the occupation’s transport and military infrastructure. Analysts cited in regional media have interpreted these developments as a tactical evolution — greater weapon-mix diversity, exploitation of low-altitude profiles and timing, and an emphasis on psychological and logistical disruption as much as on direct material damage.

The latest reported use of a hypersonic, multi-warhead missile signals what the Yemeni military describes as a new phase of reach and lethality, while the synchronized use of UCAVs demonstrates an operational preference for multi-vector attacks designed to complicate interception and increase the chance of mission success.
