Mass Student Rally in Hodeidah Rejects Trump’s Plan to Liquidate Palestinian Cause

Mass Student Rally in Hodeidah Rejects Trump’s Plan to Liquidate Palestinian Cause

News - Yemen: A large procession of faculty, staff and students from Hodeidah University, private colleges and vocational institutes marched today in a mass demonstration expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and denouncing the crimes of the Zionist entity in the Gaza Strip under the slogan: “With Gaza — Yemen of faith in jihad, steadfastness and continuity.”

Led by Hodeidah University president  Mohammed Al-Ahdal, college deans, directors of private universities and technical education leadership, demonstrators chanted slogans rejecting US President Trump’s plan, which they said entrenches occupation and institutionalizes seizure and expanded control over Palestine and Gaza.

Participants described the plan as a new cover for the liquidation of the Palestinian cause and a direct tool to expand the occupier’s influence. They said it exposed the positions of Arab and Islamic regimes that have aligned with the Zionist project and provided political cover for Trump and Netanyahu in their efforts to target Palestine and the resistance.

The protesters renewed their condemnation of the suspicious Arab silence in the face of the Zionist entity’s brutal crimes against children and women in Gaza — crimes carried out with US and Western backing and with overt Arab and Islamic complicity — saying this reflects the tragic moral decline of the nation and a shameful submissiveness to the occupier.

Speakers expressed pride in Yemen’s principled stances — at leadership and popular levels and within its Armed Forces — in support of Gaza, praising those positions as having broken the barrier of silence and unsettled the enemy. They said these actions represent the true voice of the nation against the occupier and its backers.

Academics, staff and students of Hodeidah University affirmed their full support and blessing for continued high-tempo support operations for the Palestinian people and their resistance, describing such efforts as proof of Yemen’s steadfast commitment to the causes of the nation, foremost among them Palestine. They called on the peoples of the Ummah to break the wall of silence and to abandon disgraceful inaction by taking concrete measures commensurate with the magnitude of crimes that sicken hearts and break spirits, warning that silence and cowardice are crimes that will be washed away only by decisive action.

Participants hailed the heroic endurance, patience and epic sacrifices of the people and resistance in Gaza in confronting the machinery of extermination and siege, urging the Ummah to draw lessons of steadfastness, sacrifice and dignity from Gaza’s example.

The rally also addressed advocates and supporters of normalization in the region who, the statement said, “sold the Palestinian cause and the values of Islam and Arabism.” Protesters declared that Palestine will prevail regardless of sacrifices and attempts to mislead Arab and Muslim publics into alliances with the Zionist occupier aimed at weakening Palestine and expanding normalization.

Organizers vowed to continue solidarity events and activities in support of the Palestinian people and their valiant resistance, framing such mobilization as opposition to enemy conspiracies and alignment with sincere Islamic belonging and the national interest that secures dignity and independence.

A statement issued by the march said the weekly activism in support of the oppressed Palestinian people is undertaken in obedience to Allah, seeking His approval, and as a renewal of commitment to the path of jihad, patience and sacrifice of lives and wealth — a pledge to the Palestinian people and their fighters.

The statement reaffirmed Yemen’s ongoing path of liberty and independence and its open confrontation with tyrants, arrogant powers and oppressors, describing the current struggle as a decisive battle against global forces of arrogance in defense of the weak.

It stressed that retreat is impossible regardless of the cost, because the price of surrender would be far greater than that of resistance; submission, it said, only yields further defeat and domination.

The march questioned the value of speeches made by Arab and Islamic leaders at the United Nations General Assembly — describing them as empty promises — while some states continue steps toward normalization with the Zionist enemy and, paradoxically, supply it with weapons. The statement demanded to know what level of slaughter will be required before those states take meaningful action to stop crimes against the Palestinian people, and insisted that resistance remains the only option in the face of silence and betrayal.

The statement asserted that the effective strikes carried out by Palestinian forces are the real practical steps to halt the aggression, noting that verbal positions do not feed the hungry, supply medicine for the sick and wounded, nor protect children from lethal bombs.

Marking the anniversary of the martyr of Islam and humanity and the symbol of jihad, honesty and steadfastness,  Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and his fallen comrade Sayyed Hashim Safi al-Din, the statement recalled Sayyed Nasrallah’s role as a protective bulwark for the Ummah and pledged to continue on that path “until the promised victory and the disappearance of the temporary entity.”

US and Zionist leaders — including Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu — have pushed what they call a “peace plan,” which is nothing more than a scheme of capitulation. The plan seeks to pressure Hamas and other factions into disarmament and political concessions under the guise of “peace,” while in reality entrenching Israeli control.
