In his weekly address, the leader expressed strong praise for the supportive international stances towards Gaza, singling out the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, for particular commendation. He stated that the Colombian President's stance is "among the most honorable and advanced international positions, surpassing those of most Arab and Muslim leaders."
He contrasted this with the position of most Arab and Muslim leaders, whose stances, he affirmed, have not risen to the level of President Petro, who has called for forming an army to liberate Palestine and severing all relations with the Israeli enemy. He expressed a wish that Arab leaders were on par with the Colombian President, whom he said was moved by a "human conscience."
"The problem in the Arab world," Sayyed Abdulmalik elaborated, "is the absence of human conscience, and religious, national, patriotic, and moral motivation. There is a truly deplorable state of inaction."
Highlighting further examples of international solidarity, the leader pointed to dockworkers and labor unions in Italy who successfully blocked a fuel shipment to the Israeli enemy. He juxtaposed this with ships from four Arab countries and one Muslim nation that, he affirmed, continue to dock weekly at Israeli ports.
He also applauded the Slovenian government's official decision to ban Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from its territory, considering it part of a positive global interaction.
Shifting to the "Steadfastness Flotilla," Sayyed Abdulmalik described it as a prominent, symbolic, and important form of solidarity. He noted that this was the 38th such attempt by activists to break the siege on Gaza, undertaken despite significant risks.
He confirmed that the Israeli enemy, as in previous instances, had assaulted the flotilla, kidnapped the activists, and confiscated the aid. However, he asserted that the activists had succeeded in exposing Israel and drawing the world's attention to the suffering of the Palestinian people, thereby building a case against those nations surrounding Palestine who, in his words, "stand idly by watching the Palestinian people being starved."
On Thursday, it was announced that the Israeli navy intercepted 13 boats from the 50-vessel flotilla - Global Sumud Flotilla - as they neared Gaza’s coast, arresting activists and jamming communications to block live-stream coverage of the incident.
According to flotilla spokesperson Saif Abukeshek, Israeli forces detained more than 200 participants, including groups from Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Malaysia.
Despite the arrests, he added, around 30 vessels remain at sea, determined to break the Gaza blockade.
Israel’s seizure of a civilian flotilla bound for the besieged Gaza Strip has unleashed global backlash, sparking protests and strike calls across Europe and Latin America as well as diplomatic expulsions, with governments denouncing the move against unarmed activists.
