Resumption of Regular Flights at Sana’a Airport Following Zionist Aggression

News - Yemen: Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works Yahya Al-Sayani announced on Friday the resumption of regular flights at Sana’a International Airport according to the scheduled times, following airstrikes by the Zionist enemy on the airport.

Al-Sayani stated that the first Yemenia flight departed at 10:00 AM after a brief suspension caused by the attacks. He noted that the aggression on the airport resulted in the martyrdom of four people, injuries to nearly 20 civilians and employees, and damage to the airport’s infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Khaled Al-Shayef, Director of Sana’a International Airport, clarified that the Israeli strikes targeted the airport while the terminal was crowded with travelers. He affirmed the airport’s full operational readiness and confirmed that flights would continue as per the schedule.

Yesterday, the Zionist enemy launched a series of airstrikes targeting civilian facilities, including a power station in southern Sana’a, Sana’a International Airport, Ras Isa Port, and Hodeidah Port. The strikes on Sana’a Airport resulted in four civilian deaths and 16 injuries, including a member of the UN aircraft crew.

Almasirah correspondent reported that the strikes targeted the control tower and the arrivals hall at Sana’a International Airport just minutes before the scheduled landing of a Yemenia Airlines flight on the Sana’a-Amman route. The attack caused casualties among airport workers and civilians waiting for their relatives.

Since Israel began its devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Yemen has openly expressed support for Palestine’s resistance against the Israeli occupation. The ongoing aggression in Gaza has claimed the lives of at least 45,361 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

In addition to missile strikes, Yemen has also targeted ships linked to Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom, aiming to force an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel halts its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
