In a statement, the JMP emphasized that such calls represent a continuation of unjust policies and criminal schemes that disregard the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and perpetrate additional crimes against humanity.
The statement urged Arab and Islamic nations, along with freedom advocates worldwide, to work towards ending the occupation and resisting projects that threaten the region's security and stability.
It also called on Arab and Islamic countries, particularly Egypt and Jordan, to reinforce their positions against displacement and intensify efforts to support the resilience of the Palestinian people, ensuring they remain steadfast on their land while alleviating their suffering and contributing to the reconstruction of Gaza.
The statement highlighted that the Palestinian people, through their patience and steadfastness, are capable of confronting and thwarting all schemes, and their struggle will continue to inspire freedom advocates around the world until they achieve their legitimate rights.
US President Donald Trump stirred significant controversy with a proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring Arab nations, including Jordan and Egypt, as part of an alleged plan to resolve longstanding conflicts in the region. Trump reportedly discussed the idea with King Abdullah II of Jordan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, suggesting the relocation of over 1 million Palestinians to these countries, describing Gaza as "a mess" and proposing that housing could be temporary or long-term.
This proposal aligns with previous comments made by Trump and his administration about similar relocations, including suggestions to move Gaza residents to Indonesia during the reconstruction period—an idea strongly rejected by Indonesia and the broader international community. Analysts view such plans as thinly veiled attempts to displace Palestinians permanently from their homeland, which many believe could serve as a pretext for expanding Israeli settlements in Gaza.
The international response to Trump's proposal has been overwhelmingly negative. Arab nations and global bodies have reiterated their support for Palestinian sovereignty and condemned the concept of mass displacement. Critics argue that such proposals undermine Palestinian rights, violate international law, and exacerbate tensions in the already volatile region.
These developments follow the devastating toll of ongoing Israeli violence in Gaza, where over 46,000 Palestinians have been killed, and tens of thousands injured, most of them women and children. Gaza's infrastructure remains in ruins, and the humanitarian crisis persists as its 2.3 million residents face extreme hardships under blockade and displacement.
