According to the institute, a US Navy official confirmed that the USS Harry S. Truman transited the Suez Canal on Monday, heading towards the Mediterranean.
The report also noted that only two US warships remain in the Red Sea: the destroyer USS Stout and the cruiser USS Gettysburg.
This marks the third time in 15 months that the United States has withdrawn from the Red Sea without an aircraft carrier.
Between December 21, 2024, and January 17, 2025—just one day before a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli entity took effect—the Yemeni Armed Forces launched seven attacks on the USS Truman, including prolonged engagements that lasted for several hours. Now, the Truman departs the Red Sea in humiliation, having failed to protect the Israeli entity.
During its participation in Israel's aggression on Gaza, the United States sought to protect Israel by increasing its military presence in the Red Sea, effectively militarizing the region and disrupting international shipping.
Despite deploying aircraft carriers and warships, the US failed to shield Israel from Yemeni retaliatory strikes in support of Gaza. It also failed to safeguard Israeli maritime interests, which the Yemeni Armed Forces successfully imposed a blockade upon.
As part of the Battle to Support Gaza, the Yemeni Armed Forces successfully expelled three US aircraft carriers from the region: USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Eisenhower, and USS Truman. Additionally, the USS Roosevelt, which had initially been en route to the Red Sea, reversed course and withdrew before even entering the Yemeni Armed Forces' operational zone.
