In an article titled “In the Presence of the Master of Resistance and Martyr of Islam,” President Al-Mashat said: “He was, at all times, a father to all free people, a leader and a brother to all the righteous of our time, and a loving, compassionate, generous, and humble figure to all. He lived for the sake of Allah, fought as a Mujahid, and ultimately achieved martyrdom following the example of his grandfather, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), and on the path of Al-Quds. What a journey it was.”
Al-Mashat pointed out that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s life embodied the ways of righteousness, jihad, defiance against oppressors, victory, pride, and service to Islam—alongside the values of dignity, honor, and sacrifice.
He noted that Sayyed Nasrallah achieved, in his lifetime and within a short period, accomplishments that no one else had attained in this era, which was dominated by falsehood, the denial of truth, and great trials.
The President added: “Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah achieved everything he desired in his life: he liberated his country, defeated the Israeli enemy, destroyed the myth of the invincible army, supported the oppressed, established justice, and revived hope. He is the perfect embodiment of how a Muslim’s life should be. He concluded his life with martyrdom in the face of the enemy of the nation, in support of the most noble cause.”
President Al-Mashat continued that the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah represented the highest embodiment of Islamic unity. Even with his blood, he triumphed over the Zionist and American project to sow division between Sunni and Shia Muslims.
“He participated in the battle to support Palestine and the people of Gaza from the first day, offering hundreds of martyrs, never withholding the leadership of Hezbollah from the front ranks, and concluding it with his soul and blood. He proved to Muslims, through his sacrifice, the clearest meaning of Islamic unity and provided the strongest proof that the enemy of this nation, regardless of its sects, denominations, and countries, is one.”*
The President added that despite the great pain and profound loss as we bid farewell to one of the noblest people of this era, we are filled with satisfaction, certainty, hope, and optimism—lessons we have learned from the Book of Allah and the biography of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and which were embodied in our time by the martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
“His words of condolence and his principles have always been the guiding light for every fighter.”
He went on to say: “He is truly the martyr of the nation, humanity, AlQuds, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen—the martyr of truth, justice, and all noble values in the world. He lived defending the principles of Islam across the East and the West, and the oppressed never found a supporter like him for decades—from Lebanon to Palestine, from Bosnia to Afghanistan, from Syria to Iraq, and across the globe.”
The President stated: “Who else has been a martyr on the path to AlQuds and Palestine as he was? No one has given as he gave, no one has sacrificed as he sacrificed, and no one has been as sincere to Palestine—with his heart before his words, and with his blood before his statements. His martyrdom in support of Gaza is the most eloquent declaration of how one should stand with their people.”
He considered the martyrdom of the great Mujahid Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to be a loss for the entire nation due to his significant role, his Islamic symbolism, and his global and regional influence.
He added: “Our only consolation is that Allah chose him at the end of his life to be a martyr alongside the Prophets, the truthful ones, and the companions of his path who preceded him. Hundreds and thousands of Mujahideen, heroes, and leaders who were mentored by him will continue his path and mission until, Allah willing, they fulfill the divine promise he always upheld: the expulsion of the occupying entity and the prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The President expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family, supporters, and followers of the Martyr of Islam in Lebanon, the Arab world, and across the globe, reaffirming the pledge to continue his path and remain committed to his covenant—until Allah gathers them with him in a seat of truth.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on southern Beirut on September 27, 2024. Israeli jets dropped 85 tons of explosives, leveling six residential buildings in Dahiyeh after a week-long bombing campaign across Lebanon.
Fearing further attacks, Hezbollah postponed funeral ceremonies for its leaders. Now, over five months later, thousands have gathered in Beirut to honor Sayyed Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine in a historic funeral procession.
