News – Yemen: The General Authority for Antiquities and Museums in Sana'a has strongly condemned the recent US airstrikes that targeted a historic archaeological site on Nuqm Mountain, east of the Yemeni capital.

In a statement, the Authority confirmed that US warplanes carried out ten airstrikes on the historic Nuqm Castle on Tuesday evening, describing the attack as part of continued US aggression against civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The statement emphasized that the deliberate targeting of historical and cultural landmarks reflects the extent of moral and strategic failure of the US campaign, and warned that such acts amount to war crimes, in violation of international and humanitarian laws and conventions.

The Authority called on the international community, particularly UNESCO and organizations dedicated to the protection of cultural heritage, to take urgent action to halt the attacks on Yemen’s historical sites and civilian population.

According to local sources, the strikes on Nuqm Castle caused structural damage to nearby homes and instilled fear among residents—especially children, women, and the elderly.

This escalation follows what officials described as Washington’s failure to undermine Yemen’s military capabilities or prevent operations targeting Israeli-linked maritime routes.

Despite the United States' relentless bombing of residential areas and killing of civilians, the Yemeni people remain steadfast in their moral and religious support for Gaza, further deepening Washington’s strategic failure.
