Abdulsalam: U.S. Bombing of Yemen Has Failed as Millions Rally Against Aggression

News - Yemen: In a forceful address, Mohammed Abdulsalam, head of national delegation, denounced the ongoing U.S.-led military campaign against Yemen as millions of citizens took to the streets in what observers are calling the largest demonstrations since hostilities began last month.

The mass protests, which filled major squares across Yemeni governorates, came in direct response to "a failed military campaign that has only produced civilian casualties and infrastructure damage."

"After nearly 30 days of sustained bombardment, the Yemeni people have delivered their answer," Abdulsalam stated. "This historic turnout demonstrates our nation's categorical rejection of foreign aggression and unwavering solidarity with Gaza."

Systematic Rejection of U.S. Justifications
“Yemen threatens Red Sea navigation is demonstrably false," Abdulsalam said, noting commercial shipping data showing uninterrupted traffic outside conflict zones.

Documentary evidence confirms the U.S. objective is preserving Israel's military freedom of action during its Gaza operations, he continued, citing recent weapons transfers and diplomatic cover at the UN.

Abdulsalam presented what he termed "indisputable evidence" of international law violations, As the US warplanes targeted civilian infrastructure, power plants, water facilities, and communication hubs.

"After expending $500 million in munitions, not a single declared objective has been achieved," he emphasized.

The US air launched a campaign against Yemen began on March 15, 2025, following Yemen's decision to resume retaliatory attacks on Israel in response to Israel's intensified operations in Gaza. Since the initiation of the airstrikes, US forces have targeted civilian infrastructure throughout Yemen, including communication networks, power plants, and water reservoirs, on an almost daily basis.

Washington justifies its airstrikes by claiming they are aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the waters around Yemen. However, Yemen has rejected these claims, stating that its military operations are specifically directed against Israeli-linked vessels and not international shipping.

Yemen's military has been targeting ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, as well as those operating in Israeli-occupied territories, since October 2023, following Israel’s genocidal actions in Gaza.
