AP: US Engaged in Fiercest Naval Battles Since WWII Amid Failing Campaign Against Yemen

News - Yemen: The American news agency Associated Press (AP) confirmed that US warships have been engaged in their most intense and prolonged naval battle since World War II, beginning last year.

Regarding reports of a potential withdrawal of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman from the Red Sea theater, AP reported that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is considering extending the Truman’s deployment in the Central Command area for several more weeks.

The report noted that it is rare for the United States to have two aircraft carriers stationed in the Middle East at the same time.

However, naval commanders reportedly oppose extending the Truman's deployment due to concerns that it would disrupt the maintenance schedule and further exhaust sailors already strained by an unusually high tempo of combat operations.

This comes amid an intense confrontation between the Yemeni Armed Forces and US aircraft carriers deployed to the Red and Arabian Seas in support of the Zionist entity, which is carrying out a genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Since mid-March, the United States has renewed its aggression against Yemen, which opposes the genocide in Gaza and has conducted operations in solidarity with the Palestinian people, including a naval blockade on Zionist shipping and drone and missile strikes targeting Zionist sites in occupied Palestine.

In a speech on Thursday, leader of the revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi stated that the arrival of a new US aircraft carrier to the battlefield did not alter the balance of power and that the American enemy has achieved no success in reaching its aggressive objectives. In fact, it has been forced to deploy its carriers far away, in the outer regions of the Arabian Sea.

He noted that the Yemeni Armed Forces conducted nine engagements this week with the US carriers, Harry S. Truman and USS Carl Vinson and their supporting warships, involving 27 cruise missiles and drones.

He further explained that these naval engagements lasted for hours, and that in one case—according to a Chinese news source—a US carrier fled to the far reaches of the Arabian Sea. The Vinson, which had recently arrived, reportedly fled hundreds of miles during its encounter with Yemeni forces and is now training for retreat maneuvers during engagements.

Sayyed Abdulmalik emphasized that Yemeni forces continue to block Zionist maritime traffic in the Red Sea, asserting that Zionist and American vessels are now entirely absent from Bab al-Mandab, the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea—a total halt in enemy navigation.

He reaffirmed that the American aggression has failed and is incapable of achieving victory over Yemen, noting that the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out seven operations this week using drones and missiles, reaching deep into the Zionist entity—including the most recent strike that reached occupied Haifa, which came as a surprise to the enemy.

Sayyed Abdulmalik concluded that Yemen’s operations reaching the heart of the enemy are a clear sign of the failure of the US campaign.
