Aden: Massive Women’s Protests Against Economic Collapse and Occupation Policies

News - Yemen: The occupied city of Aden witnessed unprecedented women-led protests demanding an end to the rapid deterioration in living conditions and public services.

Thousands of women rallied on Saturday in Al-Oroud Square in Khormaksar under the banner “Women’s Revolution,” rejecting the severe collapse in livelihoods, education, healthcare, and services.

Protesters chanted for electricity, water, payment of salaries, resolution of education sector issues, and halting the ongoing currency collapse. They held the Saudi-backed government fully responsible for the catastrophic situation in Aden and other occupied provinces.

The demonstrators condemned widespread corruption and resource plundering by factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, many of whom reside in luxury hotels abroad.

Social media users circulated videos showing the size of the demonstrations and the growing public outrage at the coalition and its local proxies over systematic starvation policies aimed at subjugating residents of the occupied territories.

Aden and other occupied areas are experiencing unprecedented service collapse, especially in electricity, with outages lasting more than 20 hours daily in sweltering coastal areas, and total blackouts in some provinces. This is due to the failure of the Saudi-backed government to supply fuel for power plants, despite the massive funds allocated for their operation.
