During the demonstration held on Sunday in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, African communities and coordinators in Yemen condemned the US airstrike that targeted the migrant shelter in Sa'adah.
The protesters called for the prosecution of the US administration and its referral to the International Criminal Court to face justice for the crime.
In a statement, the African communities and coordinators stressed that this heinous crime will not deter them from their unwavering support for the Palestinian people and the just Palestinian cause.
The statement also emphasized the need for international sanctions against the US government and the enforcement of international law to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure in conflict zones.
Participants raised banners denouncing the American targeting of civilians and migrants, and urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by bringing the perpetrators to justice.
They expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and wished the wounded a speedy recovery, asserting that the attack on the migrant shelter was a full-fledged war crime that necessitates international action and accountability.
The African communities in Yemen reiterated their demand for holding the United States accountable for its crimes and called for the enforcement of international humanitarian law to protect civilians worldwide.
US airstrikes targeted a migrant shelter in Sa'adah housing 115 African migrants. The attack resulted in at least 60 deaths and over 65 injuries, with many of the wounded in critical condition.
The destruction of the shelter severely hampered rescue operations, as teams faced difficulties due to the extent of the damage.
