Pro-occupation media reported that mercenaries affiliated with the so-called Transitional Council sent groups to infiltrate the large protests, which hundreds of Adenis joined to demand improvements. However, the expansion of protests foiled the UAE-backed forces’ plans, prompting them to suppress the demonstrators.
Protesters chanted for the removal of Saudi and Emirati occupation tools, stressing that the situation in occupied Aden has become unbearable, condemning the rampant corruption in all service sectors run by the mercenary authorities.
Clashes erupted between UAE-backed mercenaries and protesters in Al-Arroudh Square, Khormaksar District, aiming to disperse and suppress the demonstrations.
Activists on social media circulated videos showing the UAE-backed occupation mercenaries attacking protesters and carrying out widespread arrests.
Men also held a protest in Al-Arroudh Square, demanding urgent solutions to worsening crises, especially electricity and water shortages, following two prior women’s protests in recent days.
These protests reveal the failure of corrupt authorities to bring any positive change or halt deterioration. Patchwork solutions promoted by mercenary officials are seen as mere bubbles to silence popular anger and cover ongoing service decline.
In this regard, Aden Governor Tariq Sallam condemned the Saudi-Emirati occupation forces’ brutal suppression of peaceful protesters, violent dispersal attempts, direct armed assaults, and mass arrests.
He said these criminal acts would only strengthen Aden’s free people in confronting the occupiers and their collaborators who plundered the nation’s wealth and seized its resources.
Governor Sallam stressed that the large protests reflect the people’s strong desire for liberation, the expulsion of occupation militias, and absolute rejection of mercenaries imposing authority through intimidation and starvation.
He described the day’s events as a deliberate, systematic targeting of citizens’ lives and national gains by occupiers and their agents, who use such measures to pressure Aden’s people into accepting their schemes. This has turned Aden into a volcano ready to consume anyone attempting to violate the rights of its free people.
The governor noted that Aden and other occupied provinces are heading toward major changes that will uproot tyrants and their tools from Yemen’s occupied lands.
He predicted increased popular momentum, especially as the true nature of conspiracies and malicious plots by the occupiers to exploit Aden’s people and other occupied areas becomes clearer.
Governor Sallam affirmed that everyone stands united against the arrogance of the aggression, which exploits Yemen’s wealth and resources for its interests, supported by a group of corrupt elites to push its agenda and violate Yemen’s sovereignty.
He praised Aden’s people for their awareness across all components and called on everyone to unite, align their visions, and strengthen resolve to move forward toward liberating all occupied territories.
Aden and other occupied areas are experiencing unprecedented service collapse, especially in electricity, with outages lasting more than 20 hours daily in sweltering coastal areas, and total blackouts in some provinces. This is due to the failure of the Saudi-backed government to supply fuel for power plants, despite the massive funds allocated for their operation.
