News - Yemen: Two major Palestinian resistance factions — the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Mujahideen Movement — have welcomed Yemen’s decision to impose a naval blockade on the Port of Haifa, describing it as a pivotal and escalatory step that deepens Israel’s ongoing strategic crisis and reinforces the unity of the regional resistance front.

In a statement issued early Tuesday, the Popular Front praised the Yemeni move as a direct response to the Israeli regime’s intensifying aggression and brutal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza. 

“The blockade of Haifa Port reflects the unity of battle and destiny, and represents the principled position of the Yemeni people, its leadership, and Armed Forces,” the PFLP said. “This advanced Yemeni action is increasing pressure on the occupying entity and pushing it into a deepening strategic crisis with far-reaching security and economic implications.”

The PFLP added that the blockade is part of a larger sequence of resistance steps, including the imposition of an aerial embargo on Israeli airspace and continued precision strikes deep within Israeli territory. “This is a qualitative development that lays the groundwork for a new phase of Yemeni resistance against the Zionist entity,” the group stated.

The Mujahideen Movement echoed these sentiments, hailing Yemen’s blockade as “a qualitative step that intensifies the crises of the Zionist Nazi enemy.” 

In its own statement Tuesday morning, the group asserted that the decision “once again reflects the unity of purpose and destiny among the nations of the region, and redirects the compass toward the true enemy of the Ummah.”

The Mujahideen Movement also commended Yemen’s principled and courageous stance at a time when the Palestinian people are enduring “the most horrific acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing under deafening Arab silence and complicity.” The group stressed that Palestinians “will never forget Yemen’s bold and moral support in this critical moment.”

Earlier on Monday, Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced the decision to impose a naval blockade on the Port of Haifa, mirroring the earlier successful blockade of the Port of Umm Al-Rashrash (Eilat), which led to its complete shutdown.

This latest move follows Yemen’s imposition of a de facto aerial blockade on Lod Airport (Ben Gurion) and is part of an expanding strategy to isolate the Israeli regime regionally and globally until the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted.
