News - Yemen: The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the recent conclusions issued by the EU Council regarding Yemen, describing them as inaccurate and biased. The ministry asserted that the true threat to regional stability and maritime navigation is posed by the Zionist entity and its international backers.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the ministry criticized the European Union for its failure to exert pressure on Israel to end its genocide in Gaza, while turning a blind eye to US-Israeli attacks on Yemen. Instead, the EU unjustly called for an end to Yemen’s defensive actions against Israel.

The ministry clarified that the maritime blockade imposed by the Yemeni Armed Forces targets only the Israeli occupation and came in response to the international community’s failure to lift the siege on Gaza.

Yemen reaffirmed its commitment to the security of the Red Sea, emphasizing its rejection of efforts to militarize the region. It placed responsibility on the United States for obstructing peace efforts in Yemen due to Sana'a's principled stance in support of Gaza.

Since the onset of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemen has emerged as one of the most active regional forces confronting the Zionist regime militarily. In response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the continued siege on the Palestinian people, the Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a series of escalating operations, including missile and drone strikes as well as naval and aerial blockades, targeting Israeli infrastructure and ports.

Initially focusing on the Red Sea and Umm Al-Rashrash port, Yemen successfully disrupted Israeli maritime activity. More recently, the Yemeni Armed Forces expanded their campaign by announcing a naval blockade on Haifa Port in northern occupied Palestine, signaling a strategic escalation in both range and intent.

This latest development comes amid growing concern among Israeli and American officials about Yemen's expanding military reach and sophisticated capabilities. The move has also prompted widespread regional reactions, with resistance factions hailing Yemen’s actions as a major step in pressuring Israel and redefining the regional balance of power.
