Haifa Port: Yemen’s Strategic Card Puts Israel Under Long-Term Threat

News - Yemen: The strategic Haifa Port is likened to a vast minefield of explosives threatening every productive and vital sector of the Zionist entity. Among the occupiers, it is seen as a ticking time bomb that haunts their sleep.

The port contains multiple installations for oil, gas, petrochemicals, ammonia, and other highly flammable materials. A single missile or heavy bullet hitting one of these facilities would be enough to ignite massive fires and cause huge explosions.

The fear of the port being targeted has long been a source of terror for the enemy at all levels, especially during Hezbollah’s missile operations in the war on Lebanon. But now, the Yemeni Armed Forces have brought this threat back to the forefront—more seriously than ever—with new realities that prove: when Yemen speaks, it acts.

In this regard, economic expert Rashid Al-Haddad told Al-Masirah that Yemen’s blockade of the Port of Umm Al-Rashrash has forced the Zionist enemy to rely almost entirely on Haifa Port. As a result, it has become central to the occupation’s economic, military, and productive operations.

Al-Haddad pointed out that if Yemeni missiles reach Haifa Port, it would impose a new economic equation on the enemy—one that would cause long-term bleeding and exhaustion of the Zionist entity.

He noted that the port houses crucial refineries that supply 60 percent of the enemy’s oil and gas needs. Any blockade or strike would spark a severe fuel crisis across the occupied territories, leading to the shutdown of power plants and surrounding factories.

According to Al-Haddad, Zionists view Haifa Port as a powder keg ready to explode with any strike, leaving them in a constant state of fear and panic.

He highlighted the presence of petrochemical plants and ammonia tanks, which exponentially increase the risk for the enemy.

Al-Haddad emphasized that all sectors of the Zionist entity would be severely affected by any attack on the port. He noted that cities in occupied Palestine would suffer a serious food supply crisis, as the entity relies on Europe and America to import food through the Mediterranean.

He described the blockade on the port and disruption of the enemy’s supply chains as “cutting the umbilical cord between the Zionist entity and the West, including America.”

Furthermore, Al-Haddad believes that disabling the port would lead the enemy to lay off thousands of workers—similar to what happened at the Port of Umm Al-Rashrash. This would impact the gross domestic product, create shortages of goods in markets, raise prices, and lead to an even higher inflation rate than before.

He also referenced the economic crises the enemy faced during the peak of Yemeni, Lebanese, and Iraqi operations, stating that the Zionist entity had to resort to secrecy and rely on the UAE and Turkish imports of vegetables and fresh foods to mitigate its suffering.

He concluded that investment would further collapse and arms deals—and the factories producing them—could come to a halt, as the enemy depends on Haifa Port as a key artery for importing and exporting weapons.

All indicators suggest that by playing the Haifa Port card, Yemen has placed the Zionist enemy under the threat of long-term strategic pressure—whether a strike occurs soon or is delayed should the entity halt its crimes in Gaza. In either case, the Yemeni Armed Forces have delivered the message and forced the enemy to reconsider its calculations, moving closer to the desired objective of deterrence: ending the aggression against the besieged people of Gaza.
