Ansarullah Political Bureau Strongly Condemns US Veto Blocking Ceasefire in Gaza

News - Yemen: The Political Bureau of Ansarullah vehemently condemned the United States’ use of its veto power in the UN Security Council to strike down a resolution aimed at halting the genocide war in Gaza.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Bureau described the US stance as shameful, framing it as direct support for the criminal Zionist entity and a green light for further war crimes.

It emphasized that the American veto reflects Washington’s full partnership in the ongoing aggression against Gaza, serving as an extension of its longstanding backing of the Zionist enemy.

Scathing Critique of Arab Regimes’ Complicity
The Bureau launched a sharp rebuke of official Arab regimes, accusing them of complicity in sustaining the Zionist killing machine and direct alignment with American criminality in supporting the genocide and forced displacement of Gaza’s people.

It expressed deep dismay at the silence of the Arab masses and the lack of solidarity with the Palestinian people, while Arab rulers remain paralyzed by inaction, weakness, and betrayal.

Yemen’s Unwavering Stance: Escalation & Continued Support
Reaffirming Yemen’s steadfast position, the Bureau vowed to continue military and logistical support for Gaza and the oppressed Palestinian people, with a commitment to escalate operations against the Zionist enemy.

It urged Arab peoples and freedom-loving nations worldwide to mobilize further until the aggression is stopped and the siege on Gaza is lifted.

The US has once again found itself isolated on the global stage after vetoing a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The draft resolution, supported by 14 out of 15 Council members, sought to halt the devastating Israeli war on Gaza, which has resulted in over 54,000 Palestinian deaths, the majority of whom are women and children. It also called for the restoration of essential services and humanitarian access, as well as a phased Israeli withdrawal from the besieged territory.

The US justified its veto by objecting to the resolution’s failure to condemn Hamas and demand its disarmament, reiterating its longstanding support for Israel. Critics argue this stance effectively provides cover for the continuation of Israel’s military campaign, which has drawn widespread condemnation for what many see as acts of genocide and war crimes.

As famine spreads, healthcare collapses, and aid efforts fail under Israeli and American-led mechanisms, international outrage is mounting. The American veto—opposed by nearly the entire Security Council—underscores the deepening global divide over the war on Gaza and has prompted sharp rebuke from governments and human rights groups alike.
