News - Yemen: Ismail Al-Mutawakel, Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, praised the recent statements by President Mahdi Al-Mashat, in which he affirmed Iran’s right to target the interests of any country that participates in Israeli attacks or is involved in aggression against the Islamic Republic.

In a phone interview with Al-Masirah TV, Al-Mutawakel stated: “President Al-Mashat’s statements carry significant strategic weight, especially in light of the clear American involvement in supporting Zionist aggression—whether politically or logistically. These remarks come at a critical time as Washington attempts to reshape the regional landscape to ensure the survival and continuity of the Zionist entity.”

Al-Mutawakel emphasized that the President’s comments “reflect a clear and correct stance regarding the challenges facing the region.”

He explained that Yemen’s foreign policy is grounded in a firm and principled commitment to the Palestinian cause—a position that remains unchanged despite the complex regional and international context. He added, “Yemen, under the leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badreddin Al-Houthi, views the Palestinian cause as central and decisive in shaping its relations and diplomatic engagements with any regional or international party.”

Al-Mutawakel stressed that “Yemen understands the nature of the Zionist project and the threat it poses to the region and the entire nation. Yemen considers it a duty to support any party targeted by Israeli aggression, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.” He described this position as “not merely political solidarity, but a natural extension of Yemen’s commitment to the resistance axis in the region.”

Since Friday, Israeli forces have carried out a series of attacks against Iran, including a strike on the IRIB building in Tehran that killed two journalists. In response, Iran has vowed to defend itself using all available means and dismissed claims of depleted missile stockpiles.

Yemeni President Mahdi Al-Mashat affirmed Iran’s right to retaliate against any country involved in aggression alongside Israel. He warned that Iran is not an easy target and that countries drawn into the conflict risk severe consequences. Iran has called on the international community to condemn the attacks and hold Israel accountable.
