News - Yemen: The military expert and strategic analyst, Brigadier General Aziz Rashid, explained that the "Zulfiqar" ballistic missile, used by the Yemeni Armed Forces in today's operation targeting Lod Airport in the occupied Palestinian territories, possesses high maneuverability and penetration capabilities against the Zionist enemy entity's defenses.

In his remarks to Almasirah channel, Brigadier General Rashid stated that this type of missile has been launched multiple times without interception systems being able to counter it. This is due to its large warhead, which makes it effective against strategic targets such as ports and airports. Additionally, the warhead can be further developed to enhance its explosive impact and fragmentation, causing prolonged disruption to targets for hours.

Brigadier General Rashid revealed that the "Zulfiqar" missile is a smart missile that can be programmed and guided from the launch unit. It is distinguished by its maneuverability and ability to increase speed when facing interceptor missiles, especially if it is liquid-fueled, which enhances its sensing and control capabilities.

He added that these features make it extremely fast and undetectable even by cameras during its direct attack on the target. He pointed out that Yemeni capabilities and domestic manufacturing have enabled the study and understanding of the enemy's interception systems and strategies, allowing the development of an effective missile that achieves its objectives despite Western support for the enemy.

He noted that the Zionist entity has acknowledged the advancement of Yemen's military capabilities, particularly in missiles and drones, to the extent that they are seeking ways to detect and avoid future strikes.

He emphasized that despite the blockade imposed on Yemen by the aggression, the Yemenis continue to develop their weapons, relying on their strong will and ability for local innovation, reflecting their resilience and ongoing military progress.

Brigadier General Rashid also addressed statements by the former U.S. intelligence chief, who called for striking groups opposing the United States and Iran by creating terrorist groups to be deployed on the ground and supported by airstrikes. Rashid pointed out that this strategy was exposed and analyzed in 2011 by research centers in Syria and Iranian leadership, indicating the depth of hostile schemes targeting the Axis of Resistance.
