News - Yemen: The Nida'a Al-Karama Center for Human Rights and Development condemned the crime committed by the Islah Party militia affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition countries who killed children in the Al-Arsoom area of Al-Ta'iziyah district, Taiz province.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the center said: "Residents of the Al-Hashmah area, one of the densely populated neighborhoods, were shocked by the sudden fall of artillery shells on the neighborhood without warning. The residents are unaware of the reasons behind the Islah Party militias’ random shelling, which reflects their disregard for civilian lives and indifference to the consequences."

The center called on all human rights organizations to condemn this crime, which resulted in the martyrdom of five children and injuries to others, whose names and photos are documented. The children were playing safely when they were struck. 

The center stressed the need to hold accountable those responsible for this crime, which constitutes a violation of human rights laws and child protection regulations.

The center also stated that remaining silent about this crime amounts to complicity, and it would only encourage those militias to commit more crimes against children, women, and civilians.

In a tragic attack, five children were martyred when aggression-backed mercenaries shelled residential homes in the Al-Arsoom area of Al-Taiz district. This strike is part of a broader pattern of violence in areas under US-Saudi control.

Taiz and other occupied provinces face ongoing chaos, marked by killings, kidnappings, and torture of civilians. Local security forces, complicit in these crimes, have failed to protect the population.

These repeated violations amount to war crimes and breach international human rights law, yet global organizations remain largely silent, offering no accountability for the suffering inflicted on civilians.
