News - Middle East: The head of the Hezbollah resistance movement has condemned global inaction in response to the genocide in Gaza, urging Arab and Islamic nations to halt all forms of normalization with Israel and to impose sweeping sanctions on the regime.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Sheikh Naim Qassem denounced the US-Israeli aggression against Gaza, describing its "excessive savagery, genocide, and starvation" as having "exceeded all human and moral standards."

He portrayed the humanitarian catastrophe in the besieged Palestinian territory as a “mass killing of the starved,” accusing international leaders and institutions of complicity through their inaction.

“It is not enough for twenty-five countries to call for a halt to the war against Gaza,” Qassem stated, referring to a joint call made Monday by 25 Western nations, including Britain, France, and Canada, for an immediate ceasefire.

“Statements and condemnations do not absolve them of responsibility. What is needed is action, measures to end the massacres and crimes by imposing sanctions on the Israeli entity, isolating it, prosecuting it, and halting all forms of engagement.”

Qassem emphasized that the primary burden lies with Arab and Islamic governments and peoples, urging them to reject normalization efforts and take tangible steps in support of Palestine.

“Stop normalization. Close enemy embassies. Prevent trade exchange. Rally to support Palestine and Gaza, even with the bare necessities of life. When America sees you united and speaking with one voice alongside the Palestinian people, it will retreat,” he said.

He warned that global silence would be recorded in history as a moment of disgrace, citing the Quran: “Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.”

“History will inscribe this shame upon the leaders of humanity and their institutions, at a time of cruel starvation and mass killing,” he declared.

Concluding his message, Qassem issued a warning to those who remain silent: “The injustice of America and Israel will ultimately reach those who remain silent in the face of oppression.”

The Hezbollah chief said Israel’s “savagery and arrogance” would eventually lead to its collapse.
