News - Yemen: The Yemeni Parliament has condemned the Israeli attacks on Hodeidah’s ports and civilian infrastructure, describing them as desperate attempts to break the Yemeni people’s principled, religious, and humanitarian stance in support of Palestine.

In an official statement, Parliament declared that the assault on Hodeidah Port constitutes a blatant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and global conventions. It described the attack as part of a continuing series of aggressions targeting Yemen’s sovereignty.

The Parliament stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure is a calculated effort to undermine the will and capabilities of the Yemeni people and to deter their steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.

It reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people until the brutal aggression ends and the unjust blockade on Gaza is lifted—support that stems from Yemen’s firm belief in the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights.

The statement added that the Zionist enemy aims to increase Yemeni suffering by targeting vital ports and civilian sites, exposing its failure and confusion in achieving its goals.

Parliament renewed its call to Arab and Islamic parliaments, governments, and free people across the world to take immediate and serious action to end the killing, starvation, and siege of the Palestinian people.

It also reiterated its demand for the international community and the United Nations to fulfill their legal, humanitarian, and moral obligations regarding the atrocities committed against Palestinians.

The statement strongly criticized the disgraceful silence of the international community and Arab regimes, which it said has emboldened the Zionist entity to escalate its crimes not only against Palestinians but also against Yemenis and other peoples of the region.

Referring to recent Qatari and Saudi initiatives to ease the blockade on Syria, the Parliament asserted: “Such efforts must equally focus on lifting the blockade on Gaza’s children and women, delivering urgent aid, and averting the humanitarian catastrophe where people are literally collapsing in the streets from hunger. Where is the humanity? Where is the Arab and Islamic brotherhood?”

The statement concluded: “Were it not for the silence, betrayal, and double standards of certain Arab regimes—especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE—and their complicity with US-backed Zionist war criminals, the enemy would not have dared to reach such extremes of brutality against our brothers in the occupied Arab lands.”

Yemen's military support for Gaza has become one of the defining elements of the regional confrontation with the Israeli enemy, particularly following years of sustained conflict and siege. 

By enforcing a naval blockade on Israeli-linked vessels and developing advanced missile and drone technologies, Yemen has not only bolstered its military capabilities but also shifted the balance of power in the Red Sea and beyond.
