In an official statement, the ministry said that Saudi soldiers arrested the four Yemenis in the Jizan region and subjected them to inhumane and degrading torture, including direct burning and severe whipping.
The ministry described the crime as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and part of a broader pattern of systematic abuses by the Saudi regime against Yemeni expatriates and workers. It also criticized the ongoing international silence and the complicity of UN human rights bodies.
The victims were identified as Yahya Mahdi Shwayan Al-Salhi and Mohammed Labas Aqbi — who were reportedly burned — and Faris Mohammed Hassan Aqbi and Mohammed Jaber Ali Aqbi, who were severely whipped.
The ministry expressed full solidarity with the victims and their families, holding the Saudi regime fully accountable — legally, criminally, and morally — for this and all previous crimes committed against Yemenis on Saudi soil.
It called on the United Nations Human Rights Council, along with all international and local human rights organizations, to condemn the crime and immediately launch an independent and transparent international investigation into the repeated abuses Yemenis face in Saudi Arabia.
The statement reaffirmed the Yemeni people's right to defend their dignity and human rights by all legitimate means and pledged not to remain silent in the face of such acts of aggression.
The ministry also urged human rights defenders, activists, and media outlets to expose these violations and raise awareness about the Saudi regime’s disregard for international law and basic human decency — emphasizing that such acts constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The ministry further pledged to take all necessary legal measures to document these crimes and to pursue the perpetrators before relevant international courts.
These provocations and violations are part of the ongoing daily crimes committed by the Saudi army, including near-daily rocket and artillery shelling on border districts in Sa'adah, which continue to cause civilian casualties and material losses—amid silence from the UN mediator.
In recent days, many civilians have been killed and injured in the border districts of Sa'adah as a result of indiscriminate Saudi artillery shelling targeting residential areas.
