News- Middle East: Two young Palestinian men have been killed by Israeli forces during a raid in the northern extremity of the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The official Palestinian WAFA news agency reported that Israeli troops stormed the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, on Monday morning, surrounded a barracks and fired bullets as well as rifle-launched grenades at it, leading to its complete demolition.

The bodies of the victims were taken away by the Israeli military, local sources said.

In videos posted on social media, Palestinian residents are seen inspecting the aftermath of an Israeli army attack on an agricultural barn near Qabatiya.

The development came a few hours after a young Palestinian man was injured by live ammunition and others suffocated from tear gas inhalation during confrontations with Israeli forces in the center of al-Khalil.

Security sources told WAFA that Israeli forces stormed the city center on Sunday evening, firing live bullets, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades toward civilians and shops.

Several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation and were treated at the scene.

According to a joint report released on Sunday by the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, Israeli occupation forces have abducted more than 18,500 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including al-Quds, since the beginning of the ongoing aggression on Gaza in October 2023.

The report points to a sharp rise in detentions, with at least 570 Palestinian women abducted.

Abduction of Palestinian children has also surged, with no fewer than 1,500 cases documented in the West Bank alone since the start of the Israeli genocidal war.

Meanwhile, more than 194 journalists have been abducted, 49 of whom are still behind bars.

The report documents widespread violations accompanying these abductions, including severe beatings, threats against detainees and their families, and large-scale destruction of civilian property.
