Report: Over 53,000 Civilian Casualties in Yemen After 3,800 Days of US-Saudi Aggression

News – Yemen The Eye of Humanity Center for Rights and Development released new statistics detailing the human and material toll of nearly a decade of US-Saudi aggression and blockade on Yemen.

According to the report, issued after 3,800 days of war, total civilian casualties reached 53,264, including 19,282 killed and 33,982 injured. Among them were 4,225 children killed and 6,267 wounded, as well as 2,539 women killed and 3,154 injured.

The Center said coalition airstrikes—exceeding half a million raids—have deliberately destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and vital sectors. Targets included 15 airports, 16 ports, 458 power stations, 713 telecommunications facilities, 3,536 water tanks and stations, 2,402 government buildings, and 8,701 roads and bridges.

Productive and economic sectors were also hit, with losses including 460 factories, 15,644 commercial facilities, 608 fuel tankers, 569 fishing boats, 1,126 food warehouses, 723 markets, and 1,425 food trucks. The report further documented damage to 13,899 agricultural fields, 153 sports facilities, 290 archaeological sites, 72 media institutions, and 419 tourist facilities.

On the civilian side, the report noted that 620,582 homes, 1,965 mosques, 460 hospitals and health facilities, 194 universities, and 1,451 schools and educational institutions were destroyed or damaged.

The statistics highlight a systematic policy to kill civilians, cripple Yemen’s economy, and deprive its people of education and healthcare.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched its war on Yemen in March 2015 under the pretext of reinstating the government of former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

The US-Saudi aggression has since killed hundreds of thousands, displaced millions, and pushed the country to the brink of famine. Despite international warnings, the US-Saudi aggression continues to target residential areas and infrastructure, leaving Yemen in what humanitarian organizations describe as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
