News - Yemen: Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has strongly condemned the recent Israeli aggression targeting civilian and service facilities in Yemen.

In a post on the social media platform X on Tuesday, Rodríguez wrote: “We condemn the Zionist attacks on civilian facilities in Yemen, which constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and threaten peace efforts in the region.”

Cuba has a long history of advocating for Palestinian statehood and condemning Israeli policies. Its foreign policy is traditionally rooted in anti-imperialism, support for national liberation movements, and a strict adherence to the principles of national sovereignty and non-interference. Criticizing Israel's actions aligns with this historical position.

The condemnation comes after Israeli warplanes carried out multiple raids on the Yemeni capital Sana’a earlier this week. The attacks targeted the Oil Company facility and the Haziz power station, resulting in the martyrdom of around ten civilians and injuries to more than 94 others, most of them critically.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have been conducting military operations in the Red Sea and against Israeli targets since November 2023. They declare these actions are in solidarity with Gaza and will continue until the Israeli siege ends. This has drawn them into a direct confrontation with the Israeli enemy and its allies, particularly the United States.
