News - Yemen: The Grand Mufti of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed al-Khalili, expressed his condolences and full solidarity with the Yemeni people following the Israeli aggression that targeted a meeting of the Government, killing Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi along with several ministers.

Sheikh al-Khalili described the attack as a “brutal aggression” and a “painful shock that deeply affected the hearts of all free people.”

“We were devastated by the painful blow dealt by the Zionist aggression against Yemen’s brave heroes, targeting the Prime Minister and a group of his companions,” he said in a statement.

The Omani Mufti affirmed his complete solidarity with the Yemeni people, stressing that the attack constitutes a flagrant violation of all human and religious values.

“Our heartfelt condolences go to the steadfast Yemeni people and to all supporters in light of the grave tragedy caused by this Zionist aggression,” he added.

On Thursday, Israeli warplanes carried out a targeted strike on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, killing Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi and several ministers of the Government of Change and Construction. 

The assassination has triggered widespread condemnation across Yemen and the wider Arab and Islamic world, with leaders, scholars, and political movements denouncing the strike as a war crime. The attack marks a major escalation in Israel’s confrontation with Yemen, which has positioned itself at the forefront of regional solidarity with Palestine.
