Yemeni Forces Demonstrate Advanced Electronic Warfare in 600-Mile Ship Attack

News - Yemen: The maritime affairs specialist website "The Maritime Executive" confirmed that Automatic Identification System (AIS) data indicates that the Israeli ship "SCARLET RAY," targeted by the Yemeni naval forces, was off the coast of Yanbu and that its navigational signal had been disrupted for weeks.

The maritime affairs specialist website "The Maritime Executive" stated: "No signal has been detected from the Israeli ship 'SCARLET RAY' since Sunday noon."

The website mentioned that the area where the Israeli ship "SCARLET RAY" was attacked is more than 600 nautical miles (about 1,111 kilometers) from Yemen. This means that the Yemeni naval forces have proven they possess advanced electronic warfare capabilities, and despite attempts to spoof the ship's data to protect it from being targeted, it was successfully hit.

Intelligence reports indicated that the jamming of the ship's signal may have been a deliberate, self-imposed measure by the owning company to hide its location from Yemeni radars, amidst escalating naval attacks against Israeli ships since late 2023.

Military sources also did not rule out external jamming resulting from Yemeni electronic warfare operations aimed at disrupting the AIS system to track ships and confuse their movement.

On Monday, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the targeting and striking of the Israeli oil tanker "SCARLET RAY" with a ballistic missile off the coast of the Red Sea. The Israeli enemy has not commented so far.

In a statement, the military said its Naval Forces carried out a missile strike against the SCARLET RAY, a Zionist oil vessel, hitting it directly with a ballistic missile. “The operation achieved a precise strike, by the grace of Allah,” the statement declared.

Since late 2023, Yemen has enforced a naval blockade against Zionist vessels and ships linked to occupied ports, in solidarity with Palestinians under Israeli assault. The Red Sea has since become a central front in the wider regional conflict, with repeated Yemeni strikes targeting Israeli and Western commercial and military assets.

The attack on the SCARLET RAY follows a sharp escalation in Israeli operations across Gaza and last week’s Israeli aggression in Sana’a that killed Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi and several ministers.
