News - Yemen: Yemen’s Acting Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Muftah, stated that the mass celebrations marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad sent a clear message to the world: the Yemeni people remain steadfast in their principles, committed to defending the oppressed, confronting arrogant powers, and upholding Islamic sanctities.

Muftah made the remarks Saturday during a visit to the Ministry of Information, the General Corporation for Radio and Television, and the family of martyred Information Minister Hashim Sharaf al-Din. He met with Acting Information Minister Omar al-Bukhaiti, Deputy Ministers Ahmed al-Shami and Mohammed Mansour, Chairman of the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Nasr al-Din Amer, and senior officials from the broadcasting authority to discuss efforts to strengthen national media.

He stressed that media is a decisive weapon in countering hostile propaganda, describing the struggle as part of the battle of the Promised Victory and Sacred Jihad. Muftah praised Yemeni journalists for their extensive coverage of the nationwide festivities, saying the massive turnout reflected popular consensus, strong attachment to faith identity, and continued support for the Palestinian people facing Israeli genocide and starvation.

The Acting Prime Minister further noted that attempts by adversaries to silence free voices opposed to global hegemony will not succeed.

Later, Muftah offered condolences to the family of the late Minister Hashim Sharaf al-Din, commending his notable contributions to the advancement of Yemen’s national media from the time he assumed leadership until his martyrdom.

Yemen’s annual celebrations of the Prophet’s birthday draw millions across the country and are viewed as a display of national unity, religious identity, and solidarity with Palestine. This year’s events take place amid escalating Israeli attacks on Gaza and continued Yemeni emphasis on confronting foreign aggression.
