News - Yemen: Grand Mufti, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, on Tuesday denounced the Israeli enemy’s targeting of journalists, describing it as a deliberate attempt to silence the “voice of truth” and conceal its crimes.

Speaking during the funeral procession for media professionals killed in a recent Israeli aggression, the Mufti stressed that such attacks form part of a systematic strategy aimed at suppressing coverage of the Israeli enemy's actions. 

He declared that the aggression would not deter Yemeni journalists, nor the Yemeni people, from continuing their support for Palestine.

Sharaf al-Din emphasized that Yemenis are demonstrating their faith through sacrifice, noting that media workers, scholars, and citizens alike bear the responsibility of exposing enemy conspiracies and strengthening public resilience.

He further stated that the confrontation with the Zionist entity is also a battle of awareness and information, asserting that the blood of slain journalists will fuel Yemen’s steadfastness and deepen public consciousness, making it harder for the Israeli enemy to obscure its actions.

The Zionist entity has stepped up its strikes on Yemen in recent weeks, targeting media institutions and personnel following intensified Yemeni military operations in support of Gaza. The attacks, condemned by rights groups, are viewed as part of a broader campaign to restrict reporting and undermine Yemen’s role in the regional conflict.
