News - Yemen: The National Human Rights Commission of Yemen strongly condemned the horrific war crime carried out by the Israeli enemy on Hodeidah Port, launching 12 raids on the facility this evening.

In an official statement, the commission said the attack injured several port workers, terrified staff, and damaged infrastructure vital to Yemen’s economy, as Hodeidah Port serves as a primary lifeline for the country. 

The commission described the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure, including multiple port berths, as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, emphasizing the Israeli enemy's intent to breach principles of distinction and proportionality.

The statement further warned that such strikes are part of a systematic campaign aimed at starving Yemenis and disrupting the delivery of essential goods. 

It noted that the attack adds to the Israeli enemy’s record of deadly assaults in Yemen, referencing prior massacres in Sana’a and Al-Jawf that left over 250 civilians dead or injured, including women, children, and more than 30 journalists.

The commission called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and international human rights organizations to take urgent action to halt Israeli aggression and hold its leaders accountable for war crimes. 

It urged global human rights and humanitarian organizations to raise their voices against the violations, stressing that inaction would only lead to more bloodshed and a wider humanitarian tragedy.

The statement concluded by affirming Yemen’s resolve to defend itself and its legitimate rights, and reiterated its continued support for Palestine and besieged Gaza.

Earlier today, Israeli aggression targeted Hodeidah Port, Yemen’s key commercial and humanitarian hub, striking civilian infrastructure and injuring port workers.
